PGC Partners has successfully defended journalist Cornel Nistorescu and the Cotidianul newspaper against defamation claims filed by the Romanian Writers’ Union.

According to the firm, the protracted legal battle spanned three years, from 2020 to 2023, and involved the trial phase, an appeal, and the final appeal. “The legal dispute represented a crucial endeavor to defend the exercise of the freedom of the press, a fundamental right provided by the European Convention on Human Rights,” the firm announced.
